Sweet Mother of All That Is Holy and Fassy. I love starting out my day with some photos of Michael Fassbender. He’s on the cover of the June issue of Esquire UK, likely to promote Prometheus . I CANNOT WAIT for this movie. Incidentally, I finally saw Shame a few weeks ago… OMG. Like, I knew there was going to be nudity and sex and stuff, but I didn’t actually expect there to be an actual story, or for Fassy to be so moving and tortured as Brandon the sex addict. I love him so much… he’s so amazingly talented, as well as amazingly beautiful. Anyway, I love this Esquire photo shoot – especially the one where he’s playing in the water (*OMG*). He looks so much better here, right? As opposed to that awful photo call in Paris a few weeks ago ! As for the interview excerpts – well, Fassy isn’t talking about unleashing his beast and riding bareback. But it’s still really good: On his love of socialising: “I like to go out. I wouldn’t say I don’t enjoy a drink. As I say, I’m a sociable person.” On his love of dancing: “I like to dance. Ha! You know, I enjoy myself when I go out. When we were in Berlin and I went out with my parents, we were out till three in the morning, we were all out dancing.” On his secret hangover cure: “I still listen to Slayer, man! I just put them on the other day, still listen to Metallica. AC/DC brilliant…If you’re a little bit hungover, put on AC/DC, it’s like there’s no room for [the hangover] any more, the anxiety’s all gone.” On now having to consider his behaviour since becoming famous: “The thing is I don’t like to filter my behaviour, but I have a feeling that might be the case now…I don’t want to be in the newspapers. I just want to keep what I do on screen and that’s it.” On being seduced by the trappings of fame: “It would be wrong of me to say that I don’t get seduced by certain things. That things don’t become tempting.” On his temptations: “Well, you know, sort of, money! How much money does one need? Let’s start with that, that’s a pretty good one. Greed, things like that. Vanity, believing the hype. You have to keep an eye on those things.” On keeping grounded: “There’s another side of me that’s very simple. I keep my lifestyle pretty simple and my possessions are pretty simple.” On his self-imposed hiatus: “You have to see it clearly as looking after yourself. There is the danger of burning out here and getting lost and just becoming uninterested.” On his next challenge as a scriptwriter: “The next thing is to develop, make your own stories with writers, gather a pool of creative people and develop stuff. So it’s not the fact that I’m waiting for someone else to hire me or I’m waiting for a really good script to arrive, I’m actually trying to make that script.” [From Esquire UK via HuffPo UK ] Obviously, my favorite parts are about Fassy being “seduced” by various things. He admits to at times feeling greedy, money-hungry, vain – but he doesn’t mention the ladies. Or unleashing the beast. Maybe he doesn’t see women as part of the “trappings of fame” or something he should “keep his eye on.” Meaning he doesn’t see his (overwhelming) sexuality as a bad thing? Maybe I’m reading too much into it, looking for something sexy because I’m depressed thinking about Fassbender going into a self-imposed hiatus. It’s true – after he promotes Prometheus , he won’t have any other films coming out this year. *wailing, sobbing* Photos courtesy of HuffPo UK, Esquire UK.

After spending a few days in the City of Lights, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were spotted leaving Hotel Athena as they headed to the airport to return back to the States on Sunday (April 29). The entertainment power couple also brought along their adorable twins, Moroccan and Monroe, who stayed covered up in their car seats as their proud daddy was seen toting them around. The “Heartbreaker” songstress looked fabulous in a full length black dress while her hubby went for a more comfy look in grey sweatpants, a white tank top with black and red sneakers. As previously reported by GossipCenter, Mimi and Nick made the trip to Paris to renew their wedding vows after four years of happy marriage. The 42-year-old Grammy-winning singer looked stunning in a white mermaid frock with a black bow wrapped around her waist as her 31-year-old husband donned a white suit as he once again got down on one knee during the intimate affair. After they both said “I do,” they headed out on the town where they grabbed an intimate dinner at the Eiffel Tower’s Le Jules Verne restaurant.

The Comedy Awards 2012: The Show, The Winners
Disappointment! I just glanced through LeAnn Rimes’s Twitter , and besides one tweet confirming that she and Eddie Cibrian had renewed their vows, there’s no explosion of photos and bragging tweets. I can’t believe that LeAnn didn’t tweet about every single little last detail about her vow renewal! I can’t believe that there weren’t a million photos! Is LeAnn learning how to keep it more toned down? GASP. Game on, Will and Kate. LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian’s first wedding anniversary was last Sunday, April 22. But the country singer, 29, and actor, 38, waited until Friday to renew their vows in what appears to be a quiet, private affair. “Renewed our vows today,” Rimes tweeted Friday. “It’s incredible to thank each other for the past year as husband and wife. Here’s to another great year!” The couple, whose romance infamously began as an extramarital affair while they shot Lifetime flick Northern Lights in 2008, gifted each other lavishly last weekend for the milestone. Cibrian gave Rimes a huge ring, featuring a giant green gem encircled by diamonds, while she bestowed her man with a blinged-out watch. (“He loved it so much, he wore it to bed,” Rimes marveled.) They began the celebration on Friday April 20 with a PDA-packed lunch at Toscanova restaurant in Calabasas, Calif. Friday the 27th was a big day for vow renewals: Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon similarly re-pledged their love in Paris three days before their four-year anniversary. This Sunday, Prince William and Kate Middleton mark their first anniversary as a royal married couple. [From Us Weekly ] We haven’t talked about LeAnn since she was showing off her “anniversary present” – that hideous green ring which she was showing off on Twitter. That was incidentally the day in which one of our photo agencies, Fame/Flynet, conclusively proved that LeAnn is an idiot who calls the paparazzi for “candid” photo-ops with her step-sons – the photographers were waiting for her step-son’s soccer game… but LeAnn had given them the wrong time. I want to think LeAnn has decided to tone it down a bit since then, but you know she hasn’t. Whatever… LeAnn and Eddie renewed their vows. I’d feel bad for Eddie, but quite honestly, I’ve started to think that they’re perfect for each other. Photos courtesy of Fame/Flynet.

LeAnn Rimes & Eddie Cibrian renewed their vows days after their first anniversary
The true lovebirds LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian kept the spirit of their one year anniversary alive by renewing their vows on Friday (April 27). The country cutie tweeted, “Renewed our vows today….it’s incredible to thank each other for the past year as husband and wife, Here’s to another great year!” On April 22 of last year, the happy couple walked down the aisle and have shared a great romantic relationship ever since. The two celebrated their anniversary on the beach in California and turned it into an extended vacation. The 29-year-old singer added, “Eddie and I went climbing on the rocks in the ocean yesterday to see the thousands of crabs,” on Saturday afternoon (April 28). Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon also renewed their vows in Paris, France on Friday night (April 27) after four years of marriage. “Tonight was an incredible night,” the 42-year-old singer tweeted. “I can’t express how amazing it was to renew our vows in Paris at the top of the Eiffel tower.”

These are some new photos of Duchess Kate and Prince William doing their THIRD public event within a 24-hour period. Amazing! Kate and William attended the a fundraiser for London’s Imperial War Museum. Kate wore this charcoal Amanda Wakeley dress, which retails for 450 pounds, and which ( the Mail notes) Kate has in three different colors. She paired it with black Prada pumps! But the best part of this whole look is her hair. Look at how great she looks with her hair pulled back! This is positive reinforcement, y’all. We have to encourage her to start doing different things with her hair and when she does, we have to praise her. Her hair looks awesome here. You can see additional photos here . Here are some more of our pics: In other Middleton news, the tabloids have some surprisingly negative stories this week. In Touch has a somewhat interesting piece about Kate and Pippa’s changing relationship. Apparently, Pippa has always been a “hard partying” girl but Pippa’s recent antics in Paris “pushed Kate over the edge.” It seems that “behind palace walls,” Kate is taking the heat for her sister, with a source claiming, “Kate’s already so stressed about adjusting to her new life… she’s tired of dealing with Pippa’s issues on top of everything else.” But my favorite Middleton family story comes via The Enquirer . The Enquirer has a line on a new tell-all book about the Middletons, written by Nicholas Davies. Apparently, Kate and Pippa’s mom, Carole Middleton, comes across as a Kris Jenner-style pimp-mother: Royal confidante Nicholas Davies is releasing a new book later this year, and Davies claims that Carole Middleton and Kris Jenner are cut from the same cloth when it comes to “managing” their daughters’ futures. Davies says that it was Carole who arranged William and Kate’s whole romance! Davies explains: “What Carole did to Kate was no different than the way that Kris stage-managed her daughter Kim Kardashian’s life. It was Carole who made sure that Kate’s entry into University of St. Andrews in Scotland would coincide with Prince Willian being there. And it was Carole who made sure that her daughter formed a relationship with the prince.” The plan worked to perfection for Kate! Davies added: “Carole has handled Kate’s romance to William masterfully. Just like Kris Jenner, Carole is a brilliant businesswoman with beautiful daughters. I think Kris would be very proud of what Carole has managed to achieve.” [From The Enquirer , print edition] To give Kate some credit, I think she definitely had her own plot to snag herself a prince, and it just so happened that Kate’s plot and her mother’s plot intersected. As for the Kardashian comparison… meh. Some people in the UK press deride the Middleton sisters as very much like the Bouvier sisters, Jacqueline (Kennedy) and Lee (Princess Lee Radziwill), and I think that comparison is much more apt and complimentary. Jackie and Lee came from a privileged, upper-middle-class family, and both actively sought out the highest echelons of society and power and culture, all through marriage. The Middletons ARE social-climbers – and in America, that upward mobility would be celebrated rather than derided. I don’t think Kate and Pippa are being “forced” into anything by their controlling mother – but I do think Carole wanted Kate to marry William, and Carole made sure that Kate was comfortable and “clean” (PR-wise) for the nine years it took for William to propose. Don’t forget – the Middletons bankrolled Kate’s nine-year-wait completely. I’ve got to wonder if Carole would have been gung-ho about financing her daughter’s lay-about lifestyle for nine years if Kate had simply been waiting for the gardener’s son. Kristen Stewart is the best dressed woman in the world ! According to Glamour UK at least. Kristen topped a list that included many British fashion-girls, which is kind of impressive – Kristen being an American, after all. I was trying to put myself in that frame of mind – if I was 16 years old again, would I want to dress like Kristen? When I was 14-15, I was all about Winona Ryder, so… yeah. Probably. I’m not saying 1995 Winona = 2012 K-Stew. But there are some correlations. And while I’m still not a fan of Kristen’s “street style,” her red carpet style continues to improve year after year. She’s young, she’s mixing it up, she’s learning. And she just got a Balenciaga contract too! Anyway, Glamour’s top five was rounded out by (in order): Emma Watson, Victoria Beckham, the Duchess of Cambridge and Florence Welch (of Florence + the Machine). Other Americans on the list included Blake Lively, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Alba (??), Gaga, Beyonce, Emma Stone, Angelina Jolie (#23) and Jennifer Aniston (#30). I do think the list was stacked towards “celebrity women that the average 21-year-old admires.” You can see Glamour UK’s slideshow here . It was reported recently that Hollywood stylists are refusing to work with her thanks to her careless off-duty attire and alleged bad attitude. But Kristen Stewart has defied her critics by being crowned the world’s best dressed woman by fashion bible Glamour magazine. The Twilight star, 22, placed ahead of Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss and the Duchess of Cambridge as the most stylish of the stars. While she used to smirk at the thought of couture, Kristen has developed an appreciation for fashion of late, turning up to Paris Fashion Week and dazzling in designs by Balenciaga, Chanel, J Mendel and Roberto Cavalli in the past year. The tomboy actress has also ditched her penchant for wearing trainers on the red carpet, but they remain her day-to-day uniform, paired with jeans and T-shirts. The magazine praises Kristen for her progression from ‘awkward teen to style queen’ and for always being ‘effortlessly on-trend’. She also topped the best-dressed couple rankings with boyfriend and co-star Robert Pattinson. Harry Potter star and Burberry model Emma Watson slipped from top spot in 2011 to second place in Glamour’s top 50. Singer and former X Factor judge Cheryl Cole also dropped from second to eighth in the rankings, but the magazine says the pop star has the ‘fashion factor nailed’. Spice Girl turned fashion designer Beckham has shot-up 12 places to third, with the magazine praising the ‘adorable co-ordinating looks’ she shares with ‘her new favourite accessory’ – baby daughter Harper. This year’s top 10 is completed by flame-haired singer Florence Welch, My Week With Marilyn star Michelle Williams, Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively, US socialite reality TV star Olivia Palermo, and Rihanna. The top 20 includes supermodel Kate Moss, X Factor judge Kelly Rowland, actress Keira Knightley and Dannii Minogue. Sister Kylie is at 45. Rising style-setter Rosie Huntington-Whiteley placed at number 17, followed by Fearne Cotton and Jennifer Lopez, with Mila Kunis rounding out the top 20. [From The Mail ] Who do I think deserves top honors? Eh. Call me a curmudgeon, but nearly every celebrity woman has had some major style blunders lately. It’s not like a decade ago, when Nicole Kidman was so obviously the style leader of the world and you couldn’t wait to see what she would wear next. Charlize Theron is a bit like that, but I feel like she’s been slacking sartorially lately too. You know who I’ve been enjoying so much over the past year? Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. She might not be the best actress (ha), but that girl can DRESS. She wears a lot of Burberry, naturally. Photos courtesy of WENN.

Kristen Stewart is Glamour UK’s best dressed woman of 2012: good choice?
Pippa Middleton fell to earth last week. After enjoying a befuddling and relentless favoritism in the British and American press, Pippa Middleton made the kind of wrong move that couldn’t be explained away. Pippa traveled to Paris, where she was seen in the company of several skeevy and rich French dudes, she went to a costume party (in a really busted looking costume) and then she went joy-riding with several of the dudes, and one of them pulled a (fake?) gun . Pippa was photographed smirking and laughing as her friend pointed the (fake?) gun at a paparazzo. There were stories about Pippa possibly being arrested – although later reports indicate that nothing will happen to her legally . So Pippa is no longer a hot commodity – she’s still getting a lot of attention, but now that attention has turned overwhelmingly negative. Before her sister married Prince William, Pippa got some negative attention too – mostly for being the kind of pushy, upwardly-mobile social climber who would do anything and anyone to marry someone rich and titled. But pre-wedding, barely anyone outside of the UK had heard anything about Pippa. Now that she’s internationally known, it’s going to be interesting to see how she and her family try to combat the negative attention. And for those of you think the Middletons don’t have their own press machine – who are you kidding? So one of Pippa’s French friends, Romain Rabillard, was sent out to publicly apologize and “re-imagine” the gun controversy. Romain issued a statement, saying: “Last Saturday I was in a car with Philippa Middleton, and we were being followed by paparazzi. The car was being driven by a friend of mine, whom Pippa had only met a few hours before. As a joke, my friend brandished a toy pistol in their direction. Obviously Philippa had no idea that he was going to do that and told him to stop immediately. She did not find it funny. I regret enormously that this incident happened, and especially that Pippa has been subject to the subsequent attention through no fault of her own. I have apologized to her for this.” Wait, what? “ She did not find it funny.” O RLY? Because Pippa was clearly photographed smiling and laughing at her toy-gun-waving companion. Us Weekly claims that the Middleton family is very “embarrassed” about the whole incident, and Pippa’s wild behavior has “put Kate in a very difficult position.” Meanwhile, the Mail is going so far as to claim that Pippa has been put on notice by her family: Pippa Middleton has been warned about getting a ‘bad reputation’ after her hectic partying in Paris. Pippa, 27, rushed back to the Middleton home in Bucklebury, Berkshire, to seek advice from her mother Carole after being seen out with four different men in the French capital last weekend. During one incident, her friend Romain Rabillard brandished what looked like a real gun at a photographer who was following them. A family friend said: ‘Pippa has been told to be careful of hanging out with too many male admirers as she could quickly get a bad reputation. But her family have stood by her.’ [From The Mail ] Pippa is 28 years old – why do the Middletons (and the press) consistently treat Pippa and Kate like they’re dewy innocents, untouched by the world? I’m just saying – 30 years old is too old to have to fall back on the “Kate isn’t used to keeping this kind of crazy schedule of two events a week, she’s working her fingers to the bone!” excuse. And 28 years old is too old to fall back on the “Pippa is worried about her reputation because some big mean guys were playing with a toy gun” argument. These are adult women who have been out in the big, bad adult world for a decade or longer. Stop coddling them. Stop infantilizing them. It’s offensive. (Incidentally, Pippa already had a “bad reputation” before her sister’s wedding, as I said. Her “bad reputation” was just whitewashed in a post-wedding haze of butt-lust. This is what Pippa has always been like, that’s what I’m saying.) Photos courtesy of Fame/Flynet.
