American Idol finalists Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips went out on a high note last night, with each hopeful singing their heart out for the judges, studio audience, and fans watching at home. Each contestant performed three songs, one chosen by the show’s producer, Simon Fuller; one of their choice; and an original single they’ll release should they win. Jessica kicked things off by belting out Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” followed by Celine Dion’s “The Prayer,” and she took her final turn on Idol singing her potential single, “Change Nothing.” Phillip, who won the coin toss and chose to perform last, began his night with Ben E. King’s “Stand by Me,” followed it up with Billy Joel’s “Movin’ Out,” and closed the show with his coronation song, “Home .” All eyes were on the finalists. However, Jennifer Lopez stole a moment of the spotlight in a sexy, asymmetrical see-through bodysuit. Jen will be back on the stage again tonight to perform her latest track, “Follow the Leader.” It could be J Lo’s final curtain call, as her future on the show is still undecided. Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery briefly spoke about J Lo’s rumored departure from Idol , saying, “I’d hate to see her go. Whatever happens happens. She’s got a lot going for her, so she’ll be fine.” View Slideshow ›

American Idol Gets Ready to Crown a Winner and to Possibly Say Goodbye to Jennifer Lopez
Rounding out the 11th season of “American Idol,” the final two contestants of Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez took the stage for one final time before a winner is named. On Tuesday night’s (May 22) episode, Phillips and Sanchez went through three different rounds rocking out the final performance episode to win the hearts of America and the judges one last time. The evening began with song selections from creator Simon Fuller. Up first, the 16-year-old songstress sang her rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” while the 21-year-old jammer gave his version of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me.” During the second round, the former pawn shop employee gave his sexy take on Billy Joel’s “Moving Out” while Jessica sang Yolanda Adams’ hit “The Prayer.” Finally, finishing off their third round were the songs that will be released as the crowned winner’s first single. For Sanchez, that was her tune “Change Nothing”, which the judges weren’t thrilled with. Randy Jackson was blunt with his opinion, saying, “”Let me be straight up, I did not love the song,” while Jennifer Lopez also gave her advice, explaining, “You have to be able to say to someone, ‘This is not me’, you can change songs. Those are your options as an artist.” The final performance of the night could be described with the old saying “save the best for last” – as Phillips closed things out while getting a standing ovation for his tune “Home,” in which Jackson applauded and said, “Dude, I loved the song, I loved you, I loved the marching band, everything about that was perfect!” Making the night even more performance packed, last season’s winner Scotty McCreery and Jason Derulo both took the stage. Tune into FOX tomorrow night at 8/7c to find out who will be this year’s “American Idol” and check out tonight’s performances below!

Proving just why she’s one of the biggest fashion icons, Jessica Alba was spotted out and about with a friend in Beverly Hills, CA on Tuesday afternoon (May 22). The gorgeous brunette looked chic in a multi-color outfit as she rocked coral skinny jeans, a mint green top and denim vest as she lunched with a friend at Le Pain Quotidien which caused quite the paparazzi frenzy. In other news, as previously reported by GossipCenter, the mom of two is the June 2012 cover girl for Marie Claire magazine where she opens up about everything from fashion, family, parenting and her business “The Honest Company.” When talking about her company, which she has been working on for the last three and a half years, the 31-year-old explains where the idea came from and why it’s so important to her adding, “I took a year off from acting when I had Honor, and I was home with her, diapering her, cleaning up after her, and I had a real frustration that I couldn’t find healthy, nontoxic, and affordable products that actually worked. So I decided I needed to do something about it while my family and friends have young children.” Besides getting inspiration to start an eco-friendly empire, the “X-Men” star explains that being a mom also helped her in growing up and understanding her sexiness saying, “Now that I’m older, I’ve learned how to own it, but I’m still not very overt. There are some women who dress for men. I dress for myself. It took me some time to get here. Being a mom and feeling grown-up have helped. Now if I’m going to wear something short, it has to have a high neck or a little sci-fi toughness to it, an edge.” Check out the video below from Jessica’s Marie Claire cover photo shoot!

Opening up in a recent interview, Prince William confessed he hardly slept the night before his April 29, 2011 wedding. In a segment called “Elizabeth: Queen, Wife, Mother” set to air on June 1st in the UK, the 29-year-old royal told TV host Alan Titchmarsh, “[The crowds] were singing and cheering all night long, so the excitement of that, the nervousness of me and everyone singing — I slept for about half an hour”. In addition to being sleepy, Prince William also dished about the biggest challenge he faced the day of the wedding, explaining, “The hardest thing was trying to walk down the stairs with my spurs on, sideways. I had visions of myself and my brother [Prince Harry] colliding and crashing down the stairs.” Also commenting on the wedding planning efforts, William recalled, “there was very much a subdued moment when I was handed a list with 777 names on it — not one person I knew or Catherine knew,” adding, “I went to [Queen Elizabeth] and said, ‘Listen, I’ve got this list, not one person I know — what do I do?’ And she went, ‘Get rid of it. Start from your friends and then we’ll add those we need to in due course. It’s your day.’” Proceeding to talk about his relationship with his 86-year-old grandmother, the royal heir admitted, “We’re definitely a lot closer than we used to be. I think being a small boy it’s very daunting seeing the Queen around and not really quite knowing what to talk about or what to ask her. I think over the years that’s got a lot better. I’ve grown up — hopefully — a little bit and tried to understand a bit more about her role and my own role.” As Prince William prepares to one day take the throne as King of England, he recognizes, “There’s not much wriggle room left for me to try and find my own path, but I will do. It’s just a matter of learning what’s gone before me.” “Everyone’s fascinated by the Queen’s life and how she’s done it. And I would just hope that a bit of what she’s done and a bit of what she’s achieved, and a bit of how she’s conducted herself, we all take away in our own lives and try and do it ourselves,” William says. “I would like to take all of her experiences, all of her knowledge and put it in a small box and to be able to constantly refer to it.”

All eyes were on Miley Cyrus at the Billboard Music Awards as she paraded her new body in a very revealing tuxedo jacket. The 19-year-old looked beyond her years in a jacket-like creation from Jean Paul Gaultier that left little to the imagination. Meanwhile, Katy Perry chose an eye-catching lilac gown by Blumarine that shimmered as she walked the red carpet at the Las Vegas event… She even brought along her grandmother to the bash! Amber Rose definitely caught our attention in her white number that struggled to conceal her assets. It was Bobbi Kristina Brown who shined on the night, delivering a touching tribute to her mum Whitney Houston. The 19-year-old accepted the special Millennium Award on behalf of her late mother, and said she felt ‘blessed’ to have been part of Whitney’s life and thanked people for supporting her family through all of the singer’s difficulties until her death. Yet again Adele was the big winner on the night though, scooping a whopping 12 gongs. Despite not being there to collect her trophies, at least there were plenty of other winners on hand to celebrate their achievements at the bash.
