He’s always a festival favorite, and Brad Pitt was in fine form as he attended the 65th Cannes Film Festival premiere of his new movie “Killing Them Softly” today (May 22). Joined by his costars, the “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” star looked dapper as he worked his magic on the fans and paparazzi outside the Palais des Festivals prior to the screening. When asked if he was concerned about the level of violence in the film and its affect on his kids, Brad explained, “Not at all. Violence is an accepted part of the gangster world. I’d have a harder time playing a racist than some guy who shoots another guy in the face.” Pitt added, “Ever seen them butcher a cow for hamburger? It’s incredibly brutal and violent. We live in a very violent world.”

I’m starting to grow somewhat suspicious of the strategic anti-Brandi Glanville information that Radar seems privy to. Remember, it was Radar who got the story about Brandi not getting her RHOBH promotion because Eddie Cibrian wouldn’t allow his kids to be on camera with their mother (only their step-mother) – a story which Brandi spent days refuting and bitching about in the press, mostly because it seemed like Brandi and Eddie’s private custodial issues were being aired in public. Now Radar has another suspicious story about Brandi being a “hard-partying Mean Girl” in this season of RHOBH. Eh. Eddie Cibrian’s ex-wife, Brandi Glanville, one of the stars of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, has been partying hard during filming recently and is turning into the new mean girl on the reality show, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting. As we previously reported, fellow “Housewife” Taylor Armstrong has also been hitting the bottle and had a catastrophic meltdown during a recent trip to Ojai, which left her co-stars fearing for her future if she doesn’t seek treatment for her drinking. “Brandi has been extremely chummy with Lisa Vanderpump this year,” a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com. “She just doesn’t seem to be in a good place right now, and she has been definitely hitting the bottle a lot harder this year during filming, which is cause for concern. Brandi becomes much more aggressive when she drinks and she is turning into the new mean girl on the show. It’s hard to tell if it’s the alcohol that is the cause for the drastic mood changes, if it’s just Brandi trying to be provocative, or if she feels pressure to act a certain way during filming.” During an episode last season, the cast went to Maui for Kyle Richards’ husband’s birthday party and Brandi admitted on camera that she had taken Xanax and had been drinking. Glanville certainly appeared to be under the influence during the episode and was slurring her words. Glanville recently revealed in an interview with Australia’s NW HQ magazine that she once felt like killing Cibrian’s new wife LeAnn Rimes after the country singer surfaced at one of her son’s soccer practices! “I remember walking up to soccer practice and there she was with my baby in her lap,” Brandi — who has two sons with Eddie, Mason and Jake — told the magazine. “My blood was boiling, and I thought I was going to kill her. I really thought I was going to physically hurt her. But that was the first time I saw her that way — she was sitting in my soccer chair, under my tent, she’s got my kid on her lap, and she’s with my husband, and that was that little moment of total irrational fury.” However, the blonde beauty went on to say that things between the country singer and herself had gotten better. “We’re never going to be best friends but she’s good to my kids, they love her and that’s all I could ask for,” Brandi said. “If they didn’t like her, I’d be in court right now, fighting. It’s not about me — it’s about them.” “What is absolutely obvious is that Brandi is extremely insecure and very unhappy. it’s truly sad to see,” the source says. “She is a totally different person than she was during the second season and it’s not for the better.” The third season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will air this fall on Bravo. Aren’t producers looking for someone like Brandi to move the show along – a mouthy, pushy party girl? Eh. We haven’t paid attention to the Usher custody drama yet, because to be honest the stories broke late in the day yesterday. This Usher story is juicy gossip-wise, but there are kids involved so that makes it more sad than salacious. As background, Usher and Tameka Foster divorced in the summer of 2009. They have two boys together: Usher Raymond V, four and a half, and Naviyd, three and a half. It’s been about three years since Usher filed for divorce and they are still fighting over custody issues. It may have to do with the on-off nature of their relationship, at least toward the end of their marriage, ( Usher’s song “Papers” is said to be about Tameka ) but it sounds more like petty fighting. If Usher’s testimony is to be believed, it’s all Tameka’s fault. As background, Usher, 33, has a history of dating older women and letting them take over as managers of his career. He did this with Tameka, pushing his mom out as manager, and he did this about a year ago with his current girlfriend , 44 year-old music executive Grace Miguel. Usher testified in court that during a routine hand-of of Usher, Jr., Tameka spit on Grace, took a swing at her, and threw a plate of food at their car. According to Usher, Grace was back in the car at the end of the driveway. Tameka got so mad at him for daring to bring him with her that she trounced down to the car and started screaming at Grace, saying things like “ I’m going to kick your ass ,” and “ Bitch get out of the car .” When Usher tried to block Tameka from attacking Grace, she hit him instead. Usher blasted his ex-wife in court today — testifying that Tameka Foster flew into a jealous rage, hitting him, throwing food, and worst of all … spitting on his girlfriend. Usher took the stand in his ongoing child custody trial with his ex, and under questioning by his attorney, revealed how Tameka once went ballistic and “wanted to fight” … when he showed up at her house with his new sidepiece. Ush testified Tameka walked to his car and said, “I’m gonna kick your ass. Bitch get out of the car. How dare you bring this woman into my subdivision in my house?” He added, “She continued to spit. At this point she pulled the door open, tried to swing at her.” Usher claims he had to get out of the car and block Tameka … who then hit him. Usher said he pleaded with Tameka to calm down, but claims “she threw a plate of food at the car” … as he fled the situation. You gotta hear Usher describe the intense showdown — and remember, Tameka previously testified she once told the gf, “I will f**k you up.” [From TMZ ] Usher seemed really earnest, and honest, when he was recalling this. (Video is below and available on TMZ ) Either he’s an excellent actor, which is possible since he’s a celebrity and an entertainer, or he’s telling the truth as he saw it. We’ve heard all sorts of stories about what a whack job Tameka is , so I believe it. Usher married her, though, and he knew what he was getting into, considering that he backed out of the first marriage ceremony at Clive Davis’ house at the last minute. He probably realized within a few months that he never should have gone back and made it official. TMZ has another clip from Usher’s testimony , in which he cries over allegations that he’s a bad dad and parties in front of his boys. He denied that, and it was hard to hear but I think they showed a photo of him smoking pot. He countered that he was in Holland at the time. This whole thing really made me feel sorry for Usher. Firmly at the center of everyone’s attention, Irina Shayk was seen posing for a photocall at the 65th Cannes Film Festival today (May 22). The Russian-born supermodel hammed it up with Fawaz Gruosi at the Hotel Martinez in a leggy silver minidress as fans and paparazzi looked on. And though she’s made quite a successful career for herself, Irina told press that her most proud achievement is raising money for the Russian charity Pomogi, an organization that helps children pay for hospital care. “We will all be gone one day. Not as a negative thing – as a positive thing too you know, and we should leave something behind ourselves. I wanna leave some help from me to the kids, because I just feel great about it.”

After a busy week in London, Kim Kardashian was spotted hopping off a plane at the Nice Airport in Nice, France on Tuesday (May 22). Surrounded by security, the 31-year-old reality star made her way through the terminal en route to the nearby 65th Cannes Film Festival while wearing a low cut black top and a pair of over-sized sunglasses to dim the plentiful camera flashes. Before landing in Nice, Kim was spotted filming an upcoming episode for season seven of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” in the UK, which made its season premiere on Sunday in the U.S. Meanwhile, Kim also recently received the honors of being named the “Hottest Woman in the World” by UK’s Zoo magazine while gracing the cover wearing lingerie made up of nothing more than lace and red satin.

It sometimes feels like The Enquirer has a Julia Roberts story every other week. I don’t know if someone vaguely related to Julia just loves to talk sh-t about her (maybe) or if the Enquirer is hopelessly out of touch with what’s going on with the younger celebrities (definitely). In any case, here’s this week’s Julia story: Julia loves to shop at thrift stores, consignment shops and the Goodwill. I actually enjoyed this story because I think the Enquirer is encouraging us to judge Julia as “cheap” and “tacky” but I think being thrifty is a refreshing trait in a celebrity: She may get a $20-million-per-picture paycheck, but movie star Julia Roberts is still a die-hard bargain hunter when it comes to clothes. Instead of buying her three kids the latest designer duds like other celebrity parents, Julia prefers “gently used” threads from the local thrift store! “Julia loves hitting the Goodwill and consignment stores in New Mexico and Arizona,” said a close source. “She’ll go almost anywhere in search of a good deal!” When Julia, Danny Moder and their three kids are at the family’s ranch in Taos, Julia often piles the clan into the car to head off to Santa Fe and Albuquerque in search of a great buy. “Heck, she’s been known to travel all the way to Tucson for a weekend of shopping at second-hand stores,” the source continued. “She refers to the clothes as ‘gently used’, ‘previously owned’ or, her favorite term, ‘vintage.’ She’ll come home from an outing at a thrift store with her armful of clothes for the kids and happily exclaim, ‘Look what I got for just ten bucks!’” And Julia isn’t above wearing secondhand clothing either. Julia once reportedly fell for a floral-print dress she spotted in the window of a thrift shop in downtown Santa Fe, but realized she’d left her wallet in the car when she went to pay for it. For the most part, when you’re talking about kids’ clothes, I really don’t understand why you would NOT shop at thrift stores and the Goodwill. Does that make me cheap and tacky too? Kids outgrow their clothes really fast, and as long as you wash the second-hand clothes after you buy them, who cares? As for shopping for yourself – well, some people just like those vintage-y, dated clothes that you can find at thrift stores. I once got a great pair of jeans with the most stellar boot cut ever. It was just the right amount of flare. I loved them and I wore them to death and I think I paid like $5 for them. Thrift-store shopping is an art, and I salute Julia for refining her talents. Nicole Richie and Joel Madden hit the zoo in Sydney today with their children Harlow and Sparrow Madden. The foursome checked out the giraffes and even offered the animals carrots. Nicole and Joel led the way for their kids, with Harlow and Sparrow sharing an adorable moment in their stroller. Joel was happy with the treatment they received at the park. He tweeted today, “Thanks Toronga Zoo for having us today with the kids. They are still buzzing from it. Can’t get enough. We’ll be back fo sho.” The Richie-Madden family is together in Australia while Joel works on the Aussie version of The Voice . It’s back to LA for George after a stint in Washington DC in late April for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner . The politicking continued, though, when George hosted a fundraiser for President Obama last Thursday. Supporters paid $40,000 a plate to attend the event at George and girlfriend Stacy Keibler’s home, and they collectively gathered nearly $15 million for the president’s reelection campaign. The Kardashians have a long history of getting plastic surgery and procedures as some kind of plot for their reality show. We’ve seen Kim get Botox, Khloe get laser hair removal for her lady parts, and mom Kris Jenner get a facelift prior to Kim’s lavish wedding. In a new promo for the upcoming seventh season of the show, Kris is shown waking up looking like she’s stuffed a hotdog underneath her upper lip. We’re just going on The Daily Mail’s report on this, as I haven’t been able to find the actual video. The pictures tell the story pretty much, in that Kris has these lips in a scene that looks in no way contrived in which she wakes up with her makeup partially applied and several of her kids come piling in the room to gawk. Here’s more, thanks to the Daily Mail: In a new trailer for the upcoming season, Kris Jenner, the matriarch of the family, is seen with a pout which looks suspiciously enhanced compared to her usual appearance. Kris, 56, is seen looking shocked as she wakes up in her bed with a much bigger top lip. The leader of the Kardashian clan shows off her new look to daughter Kim, 31, and son Rob, 25, as the two siblings stand gobsmacked at their mother’s bedside. Kris, who is still in her pyjamas and is wearing no make-up, appears horrified by her overnight transformation and tries to hide her mouth with her hand. The rest of the family hear the commotion and rush into the bedroom surprised by Jenner’s plump top lip. It is not clear from the 30 second clip whether the mother-of-six has really had a bad reaction to a cosmetic surgery procedure, or if she is playing a prank on her children. Later in the trailer viewers are shown the Kardashians going on holiday to their favourite destination of the Dominican Republic. [From The Daily Mail ] Who is the girl in the bikini? She doesn’t look like one of the youngest Kardashian girls, so maybe she’s Rob’s girlfriend or something. The last photos we have of Kris are from May 10, below, and her lips look fug in frosted pink lipstick but they’re otherwise normal-sized. So I’m guessing this was either a stunt, or a reaction to a lip injection which soon reverted to normal. It probably doesn’t matter either way. These are the Kardashians, they’ll do just about anything to get our attention and it’s still working, goddamnit. Radar lets us know that the seventh season of the show “ will feature 18 one-hour episodes, the most ever .” They may have some KANYE to fill that time. He appears in a new TV spot for the show (it’s unclear whether it’s this same one) and Kim semi-confirmed to E! that Kanye will be featured . She then took a veiled dig at her sister, Khloe. “ I want to show my life. If we are having dinner and [Kanye] does show up, I’m sure we’re not going to go, ‘Stop the cameras!’ “ I’m not going to be taking a bubble bath and drinking champagne or on a sex swing [on camera] like Khloé [Kardashian Odom] and Lamar [Odom] do. It’s not going to be like that. ” Not until she gets even more serious with Kanye in a whole two months’ time.
