TC Candler has posted its 22nd Annual Independent Critics List of the 100 Most Beautiful Faces, and the list is rather surprising. Neither Angelina Jolie nor Jennifer Aniston have qualified for the list, which purports to not focus solely upon aesthetic beauty but also upon “ grace, elegance, class, poise, joy, promise, hope… ” After a presumably careful qualification process on an international basis, the list has settled upon Emma Watson in 1st place. Yes, Emma is very, very pretty in a very youthful way, but I can’t think of any reason why she’d be considered the “ most beautiful face ” in the world, nor is she “ one of the finest talents of this current generation ” in the acting department. The rest of the list — which includes Rihanna, Marion Cotillard, and Amber Heard in the top 10 as well as Lily Collins at #18 — can be seen in its entirety here . Of course, the rankings are subjective, but it seems odd that Mila Kunis has made the list … at #100. Doesn’t this list seem a bit backwards? In other list-related news, Ask Men has published its annual “Most Desirable” rankings, and the irrepressibly saucy Sofia Vergara scored the top position. Somehow, this cheesecake list sounds a hell of a lot more well-reasoned than one would expect and explains its top pick as follows: When it comes to Colombian imports, none are more in demand than Sofia Vergara these days. The jaw-dropping Modern Family star is one of our favorite things about one of our favorite comedies. Vergara shows off the best cleavage on network TV, and we’ve never been more jealous of Ed O’Neill. But despite her obvious assets, Vergara’s also one very funny woman, lampooning stereotypes with her perfect timing. You don’t have to pretend to laugh at her jokes, even if you do have to make a concerted effort to pay attention to them. And though you’d never think it to look at her, Vergara is mother to a 20-year-old. [From Ask Men ] Ask Men takes its list all the way down to #99, which is the slot reserved for Paz de la Huerta, who possibly should’ve qualified slightly higher due to the sheer quantity of nude scenes and photoshoots she’s participated within in the past year or so. By the way, I’ve really missed Paz on the red carpet — she didn’t show up to support “Boardwalk Empire” at either the Golden Globes or the SAGs. When you put Viggo Mortensen and Michael Fassbender together, standing side-by-side, people are going to pay attention. For some reason, we feel like we have to choose. Like we can’t take one of each from the dong buffet, like it’s a dongy cage-match, Viggo versus Fassy. Over the past months, as Viggo and Michael promoted A Dangerous Method , I’ve set up various “cage matches” to see who you, gentle reader, would choose. Shall we do it again? These are photos of Viggo and Michael from last night’s gala premiere of A Dangerous Method in London. I went a little bit overboard with the photo gallery because… you know… I can’t resist new Fassy photos. Go ahead and scream about my bias – Fassy looks better in these pics. I’m not sure what Viggo is trying to accomplish in that cream suit. Not just a cream suit – I think it’s corduroy? And he paired it with a black shirt and tie? Odd. I do like the way Viggo looks here, though – his face looks good, and it doesn’t seem like he’s wearing too much foundation. It’s just that Fassy always looks sexier to me at the end of the day. Sigh… Shall I say some bad things about Fassy just so I don’t die of Fass-lust? Here goes… I don’t like his hair this short. It ages him. And I don’t think he should wear jeans (much less SKINNY JEANS) for his premiere. Say what you will about Viggo’s fug suit, but at least he wore a suit. The evening’s top honors went to The Artist - check out all the DGA winners here – which further sets it apart as a front runner in the Oscar race. George Clooney stepped to support The Descendants’ Alexander Payne , though the leading man was without his red carpet counterpart Stacy Keibler. The two should be back together again this afternoon for the SAG Awards, however. Michelle Williams presented the documentary DGA Award to Project Nim , and she’ll be back out in just a few hours for SAG. Michelle and George are both nominees going into that one and had more big news to celebrate this week when they each earned Oscar nods. Jennifer Aniston was a nominee for her work on the Lifetime movie Five , and she did have her arm candy in the form of boyfriend Justin Theroux. Jennifer and Justin apparently snuggled close during dinner and slipped out to a private afterparty to finish their date night. Michelle, George, and Jennifer Light Up the Directors Guild Awards

Finally! Here are new photos of Jennifer Aniston at last night’s Directors Guild Awards in LA. Aniston was there as one of the nominated directors/producers of Five , the Lifetime movie she did with a group of women – incidentally, she lost in her category. Anyway, Aniston wore this Dolce & Gabbana minidress which… looks like the same kind of LBD she always wears. I’m guessing this is a new piece, but I’m also guessing she has at least two dozen versions of this dress already in her closet. So, it’s a little big boring. Shall we talk about the fact that she has no baby bump that I can see? There’s nothing noticeable in her mid-section, so that whole “she’s six months pregnant!” claim really was BS. That being said, Aniston does look like she’s gained a little weight. Maybe it’s because she quit smoking, or maybe she’s just stopped obsessively working out since she got with Justin, I don’t know. But look at her legs – and you can even see the slight weight gain in her face and in her arms. She’s just not as “toned” as she usually is. Which is fine, I’m glad that she looks more relaxed and she seems less obsessed with keeping her body ridiculously fit. She looks happy about it too. She seems to have walked the red carpet solo, but Justin Theroux was there to support his girl – go here to see photos of Aniston and Theroux inside the DGA event. They look genuinely happy together, and I suspect all of the tabloid stories about their constant fighting are BS as well (but I’ve always thought that). When will they walk a red carpet for the first together? At the premiere of Wanderlust ? Or at the Oscars? Here are some photos of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards in LA Friday night. Nicole wore this black-and-white Collette Dinnigan dress which… I like? I think? You know how I feel about lace and stuff, but I think this black lace effect was done beautifully, and Nicole definitely does not look like she’s wearing a white tablecloth with a black lace overlay. Well… the belt helps. I’m a little disappointed that Nicole didn’t do a big bouffant, though. I was one of the few that loved her giant, Southern-style, teased-up look the other day , and seeing her on another red carpet with her hair down (save for one strand pulled back with a tiny clip!) is kind of boring. I have a quick question – does anyone else think Nicole dresses too “girlie” for her age, or is that not a thing? Like, she’s not Zooey Deschanel, a 30-something woman who dresses like a 6-year-old on a sugar high. And it’s not like Nicole is dressing “too young” in the sense that her clothes are too revealing or too “young startlet”. But there’s something that I find too “precious” about Nicole’s red carpet style over the past year. Her style used to be so much more sophisticated and avant-garde, but now it’s just little lace dresses and frills and stuff. I’m guessing it only bugs me . As for Keith – STOP FLAT-IRONING YOUR HAIR. Enough. You have the same hair as Cojo . Shall we even discuss Nicole’s lips? There are a few photos where it seems like her bottom lip is a giant, immovable slug. I’m reminded of that photo Michael K just used the other day – go look at Nicole’s vintage, original lips , and then come back and look at her lips in these photos. Dear God. Jennifer shares the recognition with a handful of women, including Demi Moore , who unfortunately will be missing the evening after the scary events of the past week in her personal life . Shailene was decked out in a sheer, red Valentino gown for the evening. Nearly a year ago, Jennifer Aniston sold her newly remodeled and refurbished LA mansion for $42 million , an insane markup considering she initially bought the house for less than half that amount. All she really had done to the house was turn it into some Ron Burgundy-style 1970s shag-pad – the whole thing looked really dated, but Aniston talked a lot about how it was her dream property, so I guess it was just her style. So, it was shocking when she sold it and then immediately purchased two massive condos in NYC. The condo purchases made a bit more sense when she and life-long New Yorker Justin Theroux went public – although she bought the New York properties when Justin was still with Heidi Bivens, you know. Anyway, Aniston has split her time over the past year between her New York condo(s) and the Sunset Tower Hotel – reports claimed that Aniston was shelling out $20,000 a month to stay there (and she was paying, not Justin). So maybe Aniston was tired of spending an exorbitant amount of money at hotels, because she’s just made another huge real estate purchase – TMZ reports that she just bought another mansion, this time in Bel Air: Jennifer Aniston is about to become the proud owner of an estate you will never be able to afford … TMZ has learned. Sources tells us … Jennifer has purchased an 8,500 square foot mansion in Bel Air. The asking price was $24 million, but we’re told Jennifer got it for a bargain — only $21 mil. The Mid Century house has 4 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms and unobstructed city and ocean views. The estate is just shy of 2 acres … and in Bel Air, that’s HUGE. And get this … it even has a vineyard! Jennifer’s realtor is Jade Mills from Coldwell Banker in Bev Hills. Mills is having a good month. She repped Avril Lavigne, who sold her $8.5 million mansion to L.A. Clippers star Chris Paul last week. We’re told Jennifer will officially get the title to her new pad tomorrow. [From TMZ ] $21 million properties are nothing special for someone like Aniston.
