Despite initial reports that Lily Collins would take the part, Jane Levy is said to be in talks for the lead role in the upcoming “Evil Dead” remake. According to Deadline, the “Suburgatory” star will act as a replacement to “Mirror, Mirror” actress Collins, who was forced to drop out of the Fede Alvarez-directed film due to scheduling conflicts. The report adds that Jane will play the part of Mia, originally fronted by Bruce Campbell, who is described as “one of five young people who head to the remote cabin where evil awaits.” As for the film itself, production is scheduled to get underway in New Zealand sometime in the near future, with hopes for an April 12, 2013 theatrical debut.
Making its long-awaited cinematic debut, Madonna’s romantic drama “W.E.” has made its way to theaters just in time for the weekend (February 3). Creating quite a buzz in the months leading up to its release, the films boasts Oscar Isaac, Abbie Cornish, Andrea Riseborough, James D’Arcy, David Harbour and Natalie Dormer on its cast roster. As for the plot, “W.E.” is described as “a two-tiered romantic drama focusing on the affair between King Edward VIII and American divorcée Wallis Simpson and a contemporary romance between a married woman and a Russian security guard.” Hoping to hit it off with her audience, yet not naive as to the criticism she might face, Madonna dished her thoughts about her gig as director, telling the Huffington Post, “I am aware that I am not a seasoned director and that the world is waiting to see my film and they are not going to blow any smoke up my behind. But on the other hand, I am very proud of the work I have done and I stand by it and I am sure that it will find its audience.”

The “Video Games” songstress looked to be in good spirits, sporting a casual ensemble consisting of a backwards ball cap, a racing jacket, and jeans. And despite the mixed reviews she’s received since her performance on “Saturday Night Live,” Lana says she’s thankful that her new album is #1 in eleven countries. She tweeted, “Thank you for making the record #1 in 11 countries. Your sweet words have softened the effect of even the harshest reviews. I adore you.”

She’s no stranger to swanky movie premieres, and Katherine Heigl was back on the red carpet for her “One For the Money” debut in Paris, France on Tuesday night (January 31). The “Knocked Up” star looked picture-perfect as she posed for pictures and chatted with press before disappearing inside the Cinema Gaumot Marignan venue. In the film, which hit US theaters last Friday, Heigl’s character has a nude shower scene and she recently opened up about it to E! Online. The 33-year-old confessed, “It’s so uncomfortable. You are just never happy with the way you look. No matter how hard I tried or how little I ate that whole day hoping my stomach would stay flat, it doesn’t matter.”

New couple alert!! It looks like the sexiest man alive Bradley Cooper and actress Zoe Saldana are an item. They attended the Sundance Film Festival to promote their new film The Words and even though they entered separately reports say the two stuck by each other’s side after the cameras were gone and even shared a kiss at a cocktail party. They play a married couple in the film and it seems as though their on-screen romance has turned into a real-life romance. They were also spotted going out together in Toronto while shooting the movie. Rumors of the pair being more than just co-stars began during the filming of their movie when people noticed the chemistry between the two.

Kicking off the week with some media duties, Daniel Radcliffe was spotted out and about in New York City this morning (January 30). The handsome English actor dropped by ABC Studios to do an interview on “Good Morning America” to promote his brand new film “The Woman in Black.” Daniel noted that his new gig is a definite departure from his “Harry Potter” days. “I had a fantastic time on those films, and I never want to be one of those people to turn my back on the thing that got me where I am today, but yeah, it was very exciting for me to be going off and doing other stuff.” He also shared that “The Woman in Black” actually sees him not as a boy, but as a father. “It is very different, and one of the things people will probably notice is that I feel much older in this film. Having seen me in a schoolboy outfit for ten years, it might be a little bit of a jump for people to see me as a dad, but it’s great.” Along with chatting it up on “Good Morning America,” Daniel also paid a day-beginning visit to the Elvis Duran Z100 Morning Show in Manhattan. video platform video management video solutions video player

Daniel Radcliffe Says “Good Morning America”
Several weeks ago, a particularly interesting piece of casting news broke – Blake Lively had been cast in a lead role in a Steven Soderbergh-directed film . It was believed that Blake was Soderbergh’s choice to play a pill-popping military wife in The Side Effects , and the cast was rounded out with Channing Tatum (as Blake’s husband) and Jude Law (as Blake’s therapist/lover). It would have been a really big deal for Blake, if she delivered even a solid-to-good performance in a Soderbergh film. Unfortunately, last week, everything seemed to fall apart . Producers went public saying that Blake was not cast in the role, had never been officially cast, and that the film could not be financed with Blake in the lead role. What happened? It’s up for debate. Some blame producers, some blame Soderbergh’s unconventional casting habits, some blame Blake’s history as a not-so-stunning actress. Whatever happened, it does look bad for Blake, though. And it looks even worse now – Blake is officially OUT. Guess who’s in the role now? Rooney Mara. There isn’t an “UUUUUGGGGHHH” big enough. In her first lead role since her Oscar-nominated turn in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Rooney Mara has just committed to starring in Side Effects, the Steven Soderbergh-directed thriller. Mara will replace Blake Lively in a film that also stars Jude Law, Channing Tatum and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Mara plays Emily Hawkins, a sexy but unsettled young woman who is taking serious amounts of prescription drugs to deal with anxiety and depression surrounding the pending release of her husband from prison. Her husband has been in prison for three years and after taking a new medicine she was prescribed, she unknowingly murders her husband and stands trial for murder. Scott Z. Burns wrote the script, and Open Road will distribute in the U.S. It looked like Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures would be financier, but I have been hearing that is a bit shaky. Greg Jacobs and Lorenzo di Bonaventura are producing. Shooting begins in April. Since her breakout performance as Lisbeth Salander, Mara has been courted for several major roles, including the female lead in the Kathryn Bigelow film about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden. That film clashed with her promotional schedule on Dragon Tattoo. Mara is currently in Tokyo promoting the film. [From Deadline ] So, is that it? Rooney Mara is “better” than Blake Lively? Rooney is a better actress, sure. But I simply LIKE Blake more. Blake is a professional, she carries herself like a young actress who is simply happy to work, and Blake’s interviews don’t make me want to punch her in the face. I hope Steven Soderbergh likes being disrespected by an entitled, snotty little girl , because Rooney Mara has no appreciation for the opportunities she’s had as an actress, and she has a history of being an unprofessional brat. Also, I don’t buy Rooney as capable of playing “sexy”. She’s milquetoast, asexual and bland. Sigh… I was really hoping Rooney wouldn’t “happen” in Hollywood, but she ended up with an Oscar nomination (BEST ACTRESS?!?!!?) and now this. It’s so depressing when people with terrible personalities succeed in life. Photos courtesy of WENN.
