Britney Spears joined her new X Factor team at a party to celebrate the upcoming season in Central Park last night. Britney changed into a short purple Alexander Wang frock after wearing a white minidress for the official announcement of her involvement earlier in the day. Britney, Demi Lovato, Simon Cowell, and L.A. Reid will be judges on the reality competition, though the new host has yet to be confirmed. Britney’s fiancé Jason Trawick joined her for the big NYC day, which they wrapped up with dinner at ABC Kitchen later in the evening. Britney Spears Debuts New Minidress to Celebrate With X Factor Judges
We’ve heard the announcement that Britney Spears will be joining the American version of “X Factor,” and there were rumors that Demi Lovato was in talks to also become a judge. Last night both stars joined Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid at the Fox Upfronts to make the official announcement. Spears and Lovato will be replacing first season judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. TMZ has video of the upfronts , with both Britney and Demi making brief prepared remarks on stage. Britney’s voice falters a little bit and she looks scared to be there. It’s kind of hard to watch, and I’m hoping that Simon and the other higher-ups at X Factor make sure that she’s comfortable and supported while she’s on the show. She’s only done her own press very rarely and it may take her some time to get accustomed to being on television. Here’s more, thanks to the Detroit Free Press : It’s official: Britney Spears and Demi Lovato will be judges when the second season of the U.S. edition of “The X Factor” debuts this fall. “I’m a huge fan of the show and now I get to be a part of the action,” Spears said during Fox’s upfront presentations to advertisers in New York City. While details of the two stars’ new contracts weren’t revealed, reports over the last few weeks suggested Spears would be signing a $15-million deal. Spears and Lovato will sit alongside Simon Cowell, the show’s creator, and music executive L.A. Reid. The two pop stars replace former judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, who, along with host Steve Jones, were fired by Cowell following the conclusion of the singing competition’s first season. “I’m absolutely delighted Britney and Demi are joining us,” Cowell said. “Britney remains one of the biggest stars in the world; she’s talented, fascinating — and I believe she knows exactly how to spot ‘The X Factor.’ “Demi’s had an amazing career in music, TV and film for someone her age. She’s young, confident and enthusiastic,” the outspoken TV personality said. “I think it’s really important that she speaks to our younger audience.” [From The Detroit Free Press ] As opposed to Britney, Demi looked and acted much more confident on stage. Demi has done plenty of interviews recently and I don’t doubt that she’ll be able to handle herself on X Factor. As Bedhead mentioned , Demi may have problems going in front of the camera and dealing with the criticism and scrutiny that go along with that. She’s mentioned that she feels “fragile… in front of the camera” when she’s acting. How is she going to feel as a judge on an unscripted show? I’ll be honest, I’m worried about Britney. She’s a shy person and it’s going to take some coaxing and the right environment to help her out of her shell. Is Cowell capable of creating that environment? She needs to move away from the tight short numbers she sported at the beginning of her career. This eggplant-colored v-neck dress is somewhat better. Also, I’m not a fan of Demi’s bleached hair. She switches up her haircolor often, so it’s possible she’ll change it again soon. I actually like Demi’s bright patterned dress, even with that weird trailing piece at the front. It’s contemporary and it works on her. TMZ just reported that Demi’s X Factor salary is in the low seven figures . Britney received a reported $15 million for just this single season. Looks like they finally sealed the deal! Brtiney Spears is officially joining the judging panel on the US version of X Factor and Disney Star Demi Lovato is along for the ride too. The pop superstar tweeted a picture of her with fellow judges including Simon Cowell, LA Reid and Lovato ahead of the announcement, saying she was excited that it was finally happening. Spears is rumored to be earning around 15 million dollars for singing on to the show and in an official statement was quick to warn TV’s “Mr Nasty,” Cowell that he better watch out. 19-year-old Lovato described the announcement as a dream come true. The new duo replace outgoing judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger following poor ratings in its debut season last year.

Demi Lovato has just joined X Factor . Yep, the 19-year-old will be the fourth, and final, judge for the upcoming season alongside Simon Cowell , L.A. Reid , and Britney Spears …this according to multiple news outlets. No word on just how much she’ll be making – Britney’s getting somewhere in the neighborhood of $15 million, but we’re pretty sure she won’t be disappointed. Demi Lovato Joins X Factor!
After a poorer than hoped for debut season, Simon Cowell is doing everything in his power to bring success to “The X Factor” in the States. With reports last week telling that Britney Spears has filled a vacant judge slot on the Fox competition series, TMZ has seemingly confirmed that Demi Lovato will be grabbing a seat on the judge’s panel, as well. According to TMZ sources, the “Skyscraper” singer has “officially singed her deal” as one of the replacements for ousted Season 1 judges Steve Jones, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul. The report adds that Miss Lovato will be present at the Fox Upfront taking place in New York City on Monday (May 14) – with it widely expected that Miss Spears will be in attendance, as well.

Oh no! RiRi needed an IV! Rihanna was recently hospitalized, and tweeted this picture of her armed hooked up to an IV drip. The Barbadian beauty, had reportedly been rushed to a New York City hospital after partying at the Met Gala. The 24-year-old singer, didn’t indicate why she was in the hospital, however a source has revealed that RiRi had been under the weather lately. Thankfully after this doctor’s visit Rihanna was reportedly discharged and allowed to fly back to her Los Angeles home. This IV incident comes just days after the singer pulled out of a Saturday Night Live rehearsal due to tiredness. We hope that RiRi finds some much needed rest and relaxation.

Rihanna Hospitalized After Met Gala Party
Over the weekend I was viewing Comcast on demand (not a plug, although if they want to comp my cable they’re welcome to) when I saw an ad for the new “America’s Got Talent” with Howard Stern. I actually got excited to see the show and tried to watch it on demand, but all they have are previews as it doesn’t come out until next Monday, May 14th. For the past few seasons they had Piers Morgan on the judging panel in the place that Howard has taken, and Piers was a buzzkill. He played the mean judge, but he came off as a humorless ass, in my opinion. Howard will tell it like it is and you know that he won’t mince words, and he won’t be mean for mean’s sake. I don’t listen to his show regularly, but from what I know about him he’ll bring some new energy to AGT. (That’s what they were touting in the ads, and I was sold I’ll admit.) I think he’ll boost ratings quite a bit too. That might not be enough for the show’s revenue, as a conservative group is urging advertisers to boycott America’s Got Talent now that Stern is on board. Here’s the story, thanks to TMZ : The Parents Television Council is seething with anger over Howard Stern’s new gig on “America’s Got Talent” … so they fired off a scathing letter to ALL the show’s sponsors, threatening them to cut ties or face their wrath. TMZ obtained a letter — written by the PTC — that was sent to a whopping 91 advertisers and commands them NOT to invest their millions with NBC’s tent-pole talent show … because they feel Howard Stern will corrupt America’s children with his provocative ways. In the letter, PTC cites Stern’s violent and crude language as reasons to boycott the show, quoting his comments on former “American Idol” winner Fantasia Barrino: “Hey Fantasia, you’re not getting little boys hard. Nobody’s beating off to you. Little boys want boners. They want a Britney Spears or a Rihanna.” The PTC blasts Stern’s talent-judging qualifications — saying he’s only an expert at “looking at insecure, naked young women and telling them whether or not they were hot enough to pose for Playboy.” PTC’s threats can’t be taken too lightly … the advocacy group targeted MTV’s “Skins” and NBC’s “The Playboy Club” … and BOTH were later cancelled — though neither of them drew the ratings of ‘AGT.’ [From TMZ ] If Stern is saying offensive things on air during America’s Got Talent, then maybe some kind of boycott would make sense. These are things he said on the air on a satellite radio program geared for adults, I don’t think they should have any bearing on his ability to do his job as a judge on a network television show. Yes he’s a controversial figure, but he’s also a hugely successfully personality. He knows where the boundaries are and he’s likely to respect them. It seems really premature to stage a boycott due to his other job, and I hope advertisers are smart enough to realize that.
