Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, was the lucky lady hanging out with both her husband, Prince William, and his little brother, Prince Harry, today! The trio attended a reception in London’s Waterloo Chamber ahead of a lunch for visiting monarchs at Windsor Castle. Kate Middleton wore a dress from Emilia Wickstead , a pale pink coat-style frock that costs nearly $2,000. At the meal, Harry, William, Kate, and Queen Elizabeth mingled with kings, queens, and heads of state from 26 countries. William and Harry’s cousins, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, were also on hand to chat with dignitaries like Monaco’s Prince Albert and Princess Charlene and Jordan’s King Abdullah and Queen Rania. There may be protests in England this evening, though, as some aren’t thrilled the royals included the King of Bahrain, who’s accused of committing human rights abuses during a recent period of unrest in his country. British fare was served to Kate, William , their family, and guests, starting with a poached egg tartlet and then a main of Windsor lamb. The stars at Cannes gathered to celebrate euphoria Calvin Klein last night at a bash held just outside the center of town at the opulent Villa St. George. A few of Calvin’s ladies were on hand for the Belvedere-sponsored bash. Model Lara Stone, who’s in the CK Jeans campaigns, made the rounds with her comedian husband David Walliams, of Little Britain . Diane Kruger fronts the brand’s beauty ads and arrived on the arm of boyfriend Joshua Jackson . It’s a busy week for Diane, one of the Cannes Film Festival judges. She managed to have a night of fun, though, and caught up with friends like Isla Fisher , Naomi Watts , and Jessica Chastain. Fellow Australians Isla and Naomi spent a good portion of the night chatting in a corner together. Jessica and Shailene Woodley were among the last to walk the press line before heading up into the house for drinks and snacks. Alec Baldwin arrived on the arm of his fiancée Hilaria Thomas, and they mingled with other funny guys like Chris Rock and David Schwimmer. I think we’ve discussed the magazine CANDY before. Like, James Franco was on the cover once? Yes. It’s a magazine for (and done by) transgendered individuals, with pictorials devoted to… well, you can guess. I’m not judging anything, seriously. This magazine is not for me, so I don’t have a real opinion on the content. Only this: CAN YOU F–KING BELIEVE THIS IS TILDA SWINTON????? OMG. If you were going to guess the “star” of this pictorial, who would you have guessed before even considering Tilda Swinton? I have a list. 1. Florence Welch. 2. David Bowie. 3. Cher. 4. Lady Gaga. 5. A random drag-queen that Candy picked up at a LGBT Spelling Bee. 6. Adele. 7. CHER?! 8. Chaz Bono. 9. Any of the contestants of RuPaul’s Drag Race . 10. RuPaul. The fact that it’s Tilda, and that she wore these wigs and had her makeup done (by drag queens) and wore these clothes… does it make you love her more? In my case… kind of. These are photos of Julianna Margulies, fashion designer Narciso Rodriguez (the shorter guy) and JM’s husband (the taller guy) at last night’s El Museo Del Barrio gala. Narciso was being honored , and his girl Julianna was the one who got to present him with “the award for artistic achievement to honor his career and longtime patronage to El Museo del Barrio.” Considering lots of ladies love Narciso (Claire Danes, Sharon Stone, FLOTUS), I think Julianna was a good choice to represent Narciso’s friendships within the industry. As for Julianna… doesn’t she looks great here? CB and I were just discussing The Good Wife and how… weird/different her face sometimes looks on that show. Don’t get me wrong – I like JM a great deal, as a person and on the show. But over the past year especially, she’s been looking rather puffy and Botoxy. She looks deflated here – in a good way. CB says she’s definitely lost some weight, but I think it’s just JM’s face that looks so much better. Plus, great makeup, good hair and a flattering, pretty dress. Re: The Good Wife . Is anyone else obsessed with the show? What did you make of the “cliffhanger”? Weirdest non-cliffhanger ever as far as some of the major characters, although I do need to see what happens with Kalinda and her ex-husband (current husband?). Who do you think her ex will be? I didn’t even remember that Carrie Underwood and Chace Crawford were together in 2008 as some sort of couple. I’m really reporting this because I think Carrie is calling out Chace Crawford for staging fake relationships. She told Now! Magazine (dubious source, but still) that she was unsure why Chace was with her back then and feels like it was a publicity stunt. Here’s what she said, and you can tell Carrie is parsing her words. Carrie Underwood says dating Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford back in 2008 was definitely one of the biggest mistakes she ever made in the romance department. “In my heart, I knew it wasn’t right,” she told UK’s NOW Magazine. “You never really know why someone is with you. I feel like it was more of a publicity stunt.” [From In Touch, print edition, May 28, 2012] I looked up what Carrie said about the relationship at the time, and she admitted that they broke up over text message . She also said that the media made more out of it than it was. “ It’s difficult while you’re dating because people always make a lot bigger deal of things than they actually are .” So did Chace spurn her and is she getting back at him for using her for fame, or is she saying that they never really had much going on? Back in 2008 there were plenty of rumors about Chace and his costar Ed Westwick, who were living together at the time. Those two laughed it off and denied there was anything romantic going on between them. Chace was also spotted vacationing with N Sync singer JC Chasez in 2008, and Chasez similarly denied a relationship with him. Carrie has a history of talking smack about her exes so this doesn’t necessarily mean that she’s calling out Chace for staging a fake relationship. She told Esquire that her song “Cowboy Casanova” wasn’t about her ex, Tony Romo , because “ I would never immortalize a guy that did me wrong. I would never give him that much credit .” What about “Before He Cheats?” Chace Crawford is now said to be interested in ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews. According to US Weekly’s latest print edition the two have gone on dates “ a couple times ” and “ they’re getting to know each other .” A source close to Andrews says “ she only sees him as a friend .” Update : Thanks to those of you who pointed out that Tony Romo is now married to Chace’s sister, Candice Crawford, with whom he just had a baby. Dannii Minogue will not be returning to X-Factor despite reports that she was offered a boat load of money. The head honchos at the show had been negotiating with her for the past 48 hours to get her on board before next weeks auditions start in Liverpool. They offered her £1 million but she reportedly wanted £5 million. Needless to say they couldn’t reach a deal but some speculate that Minogue bid herself out of the running because she felt betrayed that Simon Cowell confirmed that they had a secret affair in his biography. What’s the saying? Hell hath no fury…

Kicking off the Summer Concert Series, Usher was in the house at the “Today” show for a killer live performance today (May 18). The “U Remind Me” singer took the stage at Rockefeller Center looking slick as he showed off his unparalleled dance moves. Usher had the crowd screaming and jumping as he launched into his massive hit song “OMG” complete with sexy female dancers groping him. In related news, Usher will be the opening performer for the iTunes Festival on September 1st. Additionally, his seventh studio album will be released next month.

Earlier this week, we covered a new interview with Brandi Glanville in which she described her murderous thoughts upon seeing LeAnn Rimes with Eddie Cibrian and Mason and Jake for the first time. I thought Brandi was being pretty honest about everything – LeAnn stalked and “won” Eddie and then proceeded to use the two little boys to promote herself as a “bonus mom”. And obviously, Brandi didn’t hurt LeAnn in the end. There’s no law against THINKING about murdering someone. Still, Brandi tried to clarify her comments via Twitter, and “sources” close to LeAnn told media outlets that LeAnn considered Brandi to be “unstable” and that LeAnn had considered taking out a restraining order against Brandi. Because… obviously. So, LeAnn has been on Twitter throughout the week, tweeting up a storm and acting like she won this round, I guess. She did tweet this nonsense the other day: “Disappointing when what you think is out of the goodness of someone’s heart is only a manipulation for them to later use to paint a pretty picture.” Is that directed at the media outlets covering Brandi’s interview? Or is it directed at Brandi? Unknown. Whatever. Then, yesterday, LeAnn started tweeting about the gun range and going to target practice, and she tweeted a bunch of photos with guns.
